Minecraft EULA Rant

As you may already know Mojang has changed their EULA for Minecraft and it states as of August 1st 2014 you will not be able to make money from anything made by Mojang even mods. You can read it here. Now here are all the problems people will face and where:

1.Factions

Factions is a pay to play Minecraft sub-game/ mini game. Although I think price limits of £50/$84/€63 should have been implemented as not everyone wants to pay £200 plus to play a game that costs £15. You may disagree with me when I say you need around £200 plus to play factions I mean that there will plenty of people that will be very superior to you unless you purchase a rank; many big factions will only allow you to join their faction unless you have a rank that's probably around £100 or more.

2. Kit PvP

Kit PvP isn't as much of a pay to play game as Factions although it can take to time to similar sort of gear as donators. This doesn't affect gameplay as non donors with little skill can still have fun in the warzone on their own and with friends.

3.Smaller mini games

Smaller mini games such as Sky Wars and Hunger Games/Survival Games are totally playable without purchasing ranks, gems or in-game items. All these items do are give you a slight advantage if you're not particularly good and the mini game you're playing but won't give you an advantage that makes you much more superior to the people you're playing with.

4.Server Owners and Hosts

I highly doubt many servers are going to close down because the owners can't afford to pay the server rent, I assume that most of this money is used to pay developers although some of this money may be used to pay server rent. This change of the EULA is going to stop the increase of new mini games that may of got people into Minecraft, I imagine that many people started playing Minecraft because of Minecraft Hunger Games. The productivity of this will slow down therefore leading hindering growth of Minecraft and I'm sure that this isn't what Mojang wants for the future of Minecraft. Anyway onto hosts.

Server host may have to lower the prices that they sell servers for as owners may not be able to afford to pay the amount that they currently do now.

Overall I think that Mojang are being very selfish, people buying ranks aren't affecting Mojang and making less people buy their game so in my eyes Mojang have no reason to change their EULA. If you want take part in a petition to get this EULA to change click here.

Google Glass steals phone pins: your iPhone can too

Studies in the University of Massachusetts Lowell shows that Google Glass can steal your phone password with incredible accuracy to be specific 83 percent accuracy from 3 metres away, even if your screen isn't visible to google glass.

Glass isn't the only device able to do this, an iPhone 5 and Logitech webcam can do this with even more accuracy although more obvious. The webcam got 92 percent accuracy while the iPhone got 100 percent.

All of this may sound frightening but hackers will never be able to get into your phone without them physically having access to it. Just make sure that your pin number is different to your phone password.

As people get more and more paranoid, newer, safer and more innovative ways to lock your phone emerge such as Touch ID and Facial Recognition and as this evolves hackers will find newer ways to overcome these problems; just remember convenience doesn't equal safety.

How much FPS can you see.

No matter how high spec your gaming rig is, if you are getting 1000 fps with a quad titanZ setup, your monitor refresh rate is 1:1 with your FPS. Meaning that you will never see more than 120 fps if your monitor is 120hz same as if your monitor is 60hz you will only ever see 60 fps.

There will be no difference in fps if every game is maxed your rig you will ALWAYS be bottlenecked by your monitor, those that claim they can see the difference between 200fps and 400 can't even see 150.

Although you are not wasting your money as you may be recording and lag spikes will only take you down to 30 or 60 which is still perfectly playable.

Yes you can see the difference between 30,60 and 120 fps what these videos, 1 and 2.

At this point in time it is definitely worth it to by a 120hz monitor although pricey, a 60/75hz monitor will do you fine if you aren't a gaming enthusiast.

HTC One Mini 2 Review :Should you get it

I've had the mini for 3 days and feel that I can judge what is good and bad about my new handset more info will be coming soon.

Battery Life

The HTC's battery really isn't that bad although I don't heavily my phone it last for around 1 and half days although a 3 hour sweating session of Clash of Clans can bring your battery down from a 100% to 25 in just 45 minutes.

Screen

This HTC has a 720p screen with 326ppi, coming from my ancient blackberry 9320 it's great. I have use iPhones before and I can't tell much of a difference even full 1080p screens or even 1440p screens aren't that much of an improvement. The HTC one mini 2 is great for watching youtube videos. I may give people with big hands a slight problem but it's great for me.

Design

The design of this phone is great for such a price i'm surprised that it contains 70% aluminium.Although this phone has great design it tends to overheat quite a lot; this may be present because of the hot weather and this time of year or it just had been charging for along time .

The main reason I got this device is because of the larger screen size, more battery life and just something with more compatibility. I have to say that this phone meets up to all of my standards.I wouldn't of payed the extra price for the bigger screen size and superior battery life and screen for the HTC One M8.

New Cheap Gaming mouse : TeckNet m268

Comfort
The mouse is very comfortable although when you first pick it up it feels quite cheap and plasticy after about 5 minutes you will get used to it (I know it's quick).

Features

There are 6 different buttons on the mouse but on the mac the dpi button doesn't work.I also couldn't find any drivers for mac either. It has 2000 a knitted wire, and an added 40g which seems helpful even though I just got it in the post today PLUS it has a light.

Overall it's a good gaming mouse and for £10 pounds brilliant although programmable buttons and drivers would have been nice.

New os updates from Apple, iOS 8 beta and 10.10 Yosmite

Yosemite

As show in the picture it's shown how apple have gone to a type of iOS 8/ 7 look on Yosemite which if you didn't know will be available to update from Autumn/Fall of 2014 if Apple don't delay.

The Apps on the hotbar as you can see on the macbook look "Completely new'' as Apple likes to say, but Apple seems to be turning their computer os into a mobile one while this may be helpful for people coming for pc and having an iPhone but I think it may kill the aspect of computer having way more powerful. As computer and mobiles become more similar whether it's specs one will have to get weaker and the other one stronger, it's quite self explanatory which will do which.

This update is only really visual but Apple claims for it to be a lighter os and easier to use but I don't think it can get any simpler.  Apple always stick to their word even after iOS 7 was compared to a Mickey mouse phone.

This may be a bit of a disappointment but it's never going to convert me to windows. HACKINTOSH FTW.

iOS 8

As shown in the picture iOS hasn't changed much visual

but behind it's controversial looks it seems to have improved.

According to Apple now all your photos are on all of your devices, don't quote me on this but I thought this was an existing feature even if this was not automatic. It definitely should not   have not been the first feature on apples page.

The rest of the new feature on iOS 8 seem brilliant. You can tap a button to send a video or voice while your texting and not be taken away to another page.

Now mac has now become even more integrated with whole apple ecosystem. You can answer call from your Mac or iPad from your iPhone obviously this is where you droids miss out.
Finally CUSTOM KEYBOARDS finally it seem Apple and Samsung have had a role switch in recent months with Samsung wanting to go back to Tizen, apple allowing non apple peripherals on their devices.

2014 has been quite the surprise stay update to TechRev for more.

Why Watchdogs is possibly the most disappointing of 2014

For start there is no jump button, yes you can't jump, you also can't shoot when your in a car but other people can shoot at you. This is a game that has been in development for at least 3 years and there is no jump button. The game is supposedly set in Chicago it's really just a generic city with a few monuments in Chicago added, but i guess that isn't that major point.

All the missions are the same go and check out MichealDoesLife channel to see what I mean. You go into a building take out the enemies and apparently 'hack' your surroundings which is pressing a button. There are a few mini games which really aren't that bad but is quite disappointing for this highly ramped up game.

It take one shot to kill a pedestrian in the foot and 10 shots to kill an enemy in the head. Well done with the hit boxes.

The game also uses unnecessary vram , you will need 3gb of vram to run it well which will make a brilliant card like the 680 (I know it's old), which only has 2gb of Vram won't run as well. This game doesn't even need to be that demanding it should take the same specs as something like GTA. Anyways to the specs.

You can see the AMD side is slightly damped, of course as it's Nvidia's game. They were giving away Watchdogs with their GeForce cards. Many added effects are not available with AMD cards.

Overall it's not the worst game in the world but not what you would expect. Benchmarks are from Digital storm.
