How much FPS can you see.

No matter how high spec your gaming rig is, if you are getting 1000 fps with a quad titanZ setup, your monitor refresh rate is 1:1 with your FPS. Meaning that you will never see more than 120 fps if your monitor is 120hz same as if your monitor is 60hz you will only ever see 60 fps.

There will be no difference in fps if every game is maxed your rig you will ALWAYS be bottlenecked by your monitor, those that claim they can see the difference between 200fps and 400 can't even see 150.

Although you are not wasting your money as you may be recording and lag spikes will only take you down to 30 or 60 which is still perfectly playable.

Yes you can see the difference between 30,60 and 120 fps what these videos, 1 and 2.

At this point in time it is definitely worth it to by a 120hz monitor although pricey, a 60/75hz monitor will do you fine if you aren't a gaming enthusiast.
